Sorcero is searching for a highly qualified and visionary individual to take on the role of Head, Medical Affairs Center of Excellence. In this pivotal position, you will provide leadership and direction to Sorcero's Medical Affairs Center of Excellence (CoE). The CoE plays a central role in advancing Medical Affairs within the pharmaceutical and life sciences industries by combining domain expertise with Sorcero's innovative applications. This role encompasses three primary functions:

  • Domain Expertise and Customer Support: Utilize your profound domain knowledge to directly support customer Medical Affairs activities using Sorcero applications.
  • Thought Leadership and Education: Serve as an internal and external thought leader, championing best practices in language intelligence for Medical Affairs. Drive internal educational programs to enhance understanding of Medical Affairs needs.
  • Product Influence and Development: Collaborate with Product Managers to influence Sorcero's product roadmap by providing valuable insights into the specific needs of Medical Affairs. Act as the critical "Customer 0" for product design.

In addition to these functions, the Lead will play a pivotal role in building and supporting subject matter expertise, fostering repeatability, sharing best practices, and developing tools to deliver world-class value to our customers.


Role & Responsibilities

  • Leadership: Oversee day-to-day operations of the CoE, ensuring its strategic direction aligns with Sorcero's vision.
  • Thought Leadership: Act as the foremost Medical Affairs thought leader, representing Sorcero at external events and industry forums.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Sales, Solution Engineering, and Marketing teams to expedite the adoption of Sorcero's applications within the Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences sectors.
  • Expertise Delivery: Develop and execute a comprehensive plan to deliver Medical Affairs expertise to Sorcero customers. Collaborate closely with the Implementation team to ensure successful execution.
  • Performance Metrics: Establish clear success metrics and oversee the program's progress through the OKR (Objectives and Key Results) process.
  • Customer Support: Provide essential support to customers through various Subject Matter Expert (SME) roles across various projects.
  • Content Management: Author, curate, and maintain CoE materials to ensure they remain up-to-date and aligned with industry trends.
  • CoE Expansion: Collaborate with the Product team to expand and enhance the capabilities of the Medical Affairs CoE, ensuring it remains at the forefront of innovation.
  • Standardization: Develop project plans and templates that can be broadly applied across different projects within the Medical Affairs domain.
  • Product Enhancement: Work closely with Product Managers to prioritize features based on your deep understanding of Medical Affairs needs.
  • Education Programs: Develop and execute internal education programs to enhance knowledge about Medical Affairs and its evolving role.
  • Content Generation: Collaborate with the Marketing team to create external-facing content.
  • Industry Trends: Stay updated on industry trends and identify opportunities for product development, collaborating with Senior Leadership to define the long-term product roadmap.
  • Strategic Projects: Lead cross-functional strategic improvement projects with high impact, delivering tangible business benefits.

Required Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in a medical or scientific field is essential; higher degrees, including a Master's, Ph.D., or MBA, are preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in a Tier 1 pharmaceutical or life sciences company, with an essential background in Medical Affairs.
  • Desired: 2+ years of experience in consulting or technology serving pharmaceutical life sciences companies.
  • Proven ability to build trusted relationships with executive sponsors and customers.
  • Strong understanding of key medical affairs workflows, including publications, KOL engagement, insights generation, and how AI-based technologies can address these.
  • Experience in selecting and managing external vendors for medical affairs initiatives, including digital projects.
  • Proficiency in initiating, project managing, and delivering digital-based solutions in the medical affairs domain.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across business and technical teams.
  • Strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize and manage multiple requests simultaneously, and consistently deliver superior results in a timely manner.
  • Availability to support US East Coast business hours.
