Who are we?

Sealed is a climate tech company with a mission to stop home energy waste and electrify all homes.

We provide software and solutions to contractors, enabling them to install more home weatherization and electrification projects, grow their business, and make it easier for homeowners to have more comfort with less energy waste.

Sealed's software, data, and analytics enable market leading products, including a one-stop shop rebate solution, investment grade energy savings predictions, and customer qualification and education tools.

Sealed also serves as an aggregator of projects for utility and government incentives, handling all rebate processing and payment on behalf of contractors, enabling contractors to participate in measured savings, Virtual Power Plant (VPP), and other programs with minimal additional costs or friction.

We are a venture backed and a remote-first company based in New York City. Learn more at sealed.com.

What will you do?

You will join our Innovation function that defines and validates future areas of business growth. In the past year, this function has re-defined our core business model, shifting the company from a direct-to-consumer (DTC) to business-to-business (B2B) model with contractors as our main customers.

You will work with and report directly to our Co-Founder, Andy Frank, to identify, analyze, and validate opportunities that expand the Sealed product-market fit and are aligned with our mission to stop energy waste and electrify every home. Over the course of the summer, you will lead a project closely tied to our Innovation strategy and roadmap. In addition, you will provide as-needed support on investor and Board updates and high-priority analyses.

Specifically, you will:

  • Execute key innovation activities including market research, business case modeling, product specification, and testing. Market research may include product and/or customer research through a variety of methodologies, such as qualitative interviews with customers and partners as well as validation of insights via market data and surveys
  • Straddle the micro and macro strategy and respective details
  • Build a business case for new innovations by modeling the market size, unit economics, and growth potential
  • Collaborate with other internal teams to build and test minimal viable products

The ideal candidate will combine analytic rigor with creativity, excellent communications skills, and persistent follow-through.

What success looks like

You will help identify and evaluate transformational opportunities that have the potential to dramatically accelerate our impact on climate change, and invest in clean, comfortable, and healthy homes. At the end of the day, success in this role is comprehensively evaluating an opportunity by the end of the internship that has the potential to transform our business in the coming years.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to think and operate cross functionally

  • Ability to learn new skills and technology quickly

Nice to have:

  • Start-up experience
  • Clean energy experience
