Junior Account Manager – Mend (Inside Account Management/Sales Role)

Compensation Structure

Target OTE: $60K–$75K (depending on market/experience)

  • Base Salary: 65–75% of OTE
  • Variable (Incentive): 25–35% of OTE

Example:

  • Base: $50K
  • Variable: $20K
  • OTE: $70K

Position Overview

The Junior Account Manager reports to the VP of Implementation, Account Management &

Channel Growth and is a sales-account management-driven, inside role focused on driving

revenue performance across Mend’s existing surgeon, clinic, and wholesale accounts. This

individual partners closely with Senior Outside Upgraid Account Manager(s) to increase referral

volume, improve conversion rates, and expand utilization of Mend products and programs.

This is a production-oriented role with clear activity and performance expectations, supported by

CRM-driven workflows, account reporting, and structured follow-up. The ideal candidate is

highly competitive, organized, data-savvy, and motivated by measurable outcomes.

Core Objectives

  • Increase referral volume and completion across assigned accounts
  • Drive care path utilization and referral rates within clinics and wholesale partners
  • Expand care path utilization to all care plans within clinics
  • Improve account performance through consistent follow-up and engagement
  • Maintain high-quality CRM data to support pipeline visibility and decision-making

Key Responsibilities

Current Account Sales Execution & Account Growth

  • Execute daily outbound activity (calls, emails, follow-ups) to drive referrals and enrollments
  • Support Senior Outside Account Manager(s) in growing surgeon adoption in current accounts
  • Identify and act on upsell and cross-sell opportunities within existing clinics
  • Reinforce program value with surgeons and staff to increase adoption and consistency

Referral Conversion & Pipeline Management

  • Actively manage referral pipelines focusing on incomplete or stalled referrals
  • Engage clinic staff to close gaps and drive patient enrollment and product usage
  • Track and improve conversion rates through disciplined follow-up and issue resolution

Clinic & Partner Engagement

  • Serve as primary inside contact for Nutrition-only orthopedic clinics (referral + wholesale) as well as B2B wholesale distributor
  • Support Mend wholesale partners with ordering, follow-up, and performance engagement
  • Provide basic product education and ensure clinics are effectively utilizing Mend solutions

CRM Management & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate, real-time activity tracking and account updates in CRM (Bigin)
  • Generate and review account-level reports on referrals, conversions, and revenue trends
  • Use data to prioritize outreach and identify performance gaps or opportunities
  • Ensure strong CRM hygiene to support forecasting and sales visibility
  • This does not remove the need for the Outside Account Manager(s) to maintain their updates and data entry from their account interactions

Sales Operations Support

  • Assist with onboarding new accounts and ensuring early-stage activity and adoption
  • Support implementation tracking and follow-through on key milestones
  • Partner with marketing and operations on targeted campaigns and account initiatives

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience in sales, inside sales, account management, or sales support
  • Strong comfort with outbound activity, being customer facing and performance-based roles
  • Experience working in a CRM (Bigin preferred, Salesforce/HubSpot acceptable)
  • Practical experience using AI tools to increase production bandwidth and efficiency
  • Highly organized, with strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence clinical operations, clinic staff and key business stakeholders
  • Self-starter with a competitive, results-oriented mindset

Preferred Experience

  • Healthcare, orthopedics, or medical sales exposure; both office and hospital clients
  • Experience in referral-driven or multi-step sales processes
  • Prior support of field sales or territory-based teams

Key Performance Metrics (KPIs)

  • Referral volume and referral completion rate
  • Conversion rate (referral → patient/product utilization)
  • Revenue contribution across supported accounts
  • Outbound activity levels (calls, emails, touchpoints)
  • CRM accuracy and reporting timeliness

Compensation & Growth

  • Base salary + performance-based incentive tied to referral conversion and revenue impact
  • Clear path to Senior Account Manager (Outside) or Territory Sales roles based on performance
