Role Overview

The Managing Director will lead the vision, strategy, and execution of Bump’s creator funding business. This role owns the full lifecycle of the capital arm—from product strategy and portfolio performance to partnerships, underwriting philosophy, and team leadership.

You will be responsible for scaling Bump's creator funding arm into a category-defining platform for creator financing, working closely with Bump’s core executive team, product leaders, and external partners.

This is a senior leadership role combining investment judgment, operational execution, and creator-first thinking.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Leadership

Define and execute the long-term strategy for Bump's creator funding arm, aligned with Bump’s broader mission and platform roadmap;
Establish Bump's creator funding arm as a trusted, creator-first capital partner in the market;
Build and lead a high-performing team across investing, operations, partnerships, and risk.

Capital Deployment & Portfolio Management

Oversee underwriting strategy, deal structures, and portfolio construction across creator funding products;
Set and monitor performance metrics including returns, default and loss rates, creator outcomes, and capital efficiency;
Continuously refine funding models based on creator behavior, platform data, and market trends.

Creator & Partner Relationships

Build deep relationships with top creators, creator managers, agencies, platforms, and ecosystem partners;
Serve as a public-facing leader for Bump's creator funding arm, representing the brand with creators, investors, and industry stakeholders;
Identify and develop strategic partnerships that expand distribution, data access, or capital sources.

Product & Platform Collaboration

Work closely with Bump’s product and engineering teams to integrate funding products into the core platform;
Translate creator needs and portfolio insights into new financial products, features, and tooling;
Ensure capital products are intuitive, transparent, and aligned with creator trust.

Risk, Compliance, & Capital Strategy

Establish strong risk management, compliance, and governance frameworks appropriate for a scaling fintech platform;
Manage relationships with capital providers, institutional partners, and balance sheet stakeholders;
Oversee reporting, forecasting, and capital planning for Bump.

Experience

8–15+ years in investing in venture capital, private credit, fintech, or alternative finance;

Direct experience deploying capital and managing portfolios, ideally in creator economy, SaaS, consumer internet, or digital media;

Proven leadership experience building and scaling teams or business units.

Skills & Attributes

Strong investment judgment with a creator- and founder-first mindset;

Deep understanding of creator monetization models (ads, subscriptions, brand deals, commerce, IP, etc.);

Operationally strong—comfortable with data, systems, and process design;

Excellent communicator who can earn trust with creators, partners, and internal teams;

Entrepreneurial, scrappy, and excited to build in a fast-moving environment.
